Biography

Chief Jim Finch is a member of the “NewDay USA 5” Leadership Development Team focusing on Character Driven Leadership.  He served more than 28 years in the U. S. Air Force including tours as the Commandant of the Pacific Air Force’s NCO Academy in Alaska and the Command Chief Master Sergeant for Air Combat Command. In 1999, he became 13th Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force--the highest enlisted level of Air Force leadership.  As such, he provided direction for nearly 450,000 members of the Air Force enlisted corps and their families, representing their interests to the American public and to those in all levels of government.  Chief Finch was also the personal advisor to the Secretary of the Air Force and the Air Force Chief of Staff regarding the welfare, readiness, proper utilization, and training of the enlisted force.  After retiring from active duty, he has worked in a variety of high-level senior executive positions.  He also serves on boards for several nonprofit organizations supporting the military community.
